Urge Congress to end the torment of unborn babies in the Nation's Capital!

On January 13, 2012, Congressman Trent Franks (R-Az) introduced the District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 3803). In this bill, Congress would declare that at least by 20 weeks after fertilization, an unborn child has the capacity to experience pain - and, on that basis, the bill would prohibit abortions within the Federal District from that point on (excpet when acute physical problems endanger the life of the mother).

Beginning in 2010 five states - Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Idaho - have already enacted such bans, with more states expected to join the list during 2012. Now it is time for Congress to act to end the horrors that are occurring in its own backyard.

We believe in the protection of every life from conception to natural death and this bill is a step in the right direction - acknowledging the unborn child as a person capable of feeling pain. Please take action and encourage your representatives to support this bill. You may send a pre-written email by going to www.nrlc.org. To send a written copy, please take a sample in the back of the church.

Pro-Life Prayers

Prayer for Respect of Life

All mighty God, giver of all that is good. We thank you for the precious gift of human life.
For life in the womb, coming from your creative power.
For life of children, making us glad with their freshness and promise.
For the life of young people, hoping for a better world.
For the life of the handicapped and disabled, teaching us humility.
For the life of the elderly, witnessing the ageless values of patience and wisdom.
Like Blessed Mary, may we always say yes to your gift. May we defend it and promote it from
conception to its natural end and bring us at last Oh Father to eternal life, in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
